According to Ari Meirov of The 33rd Team, the Bears have parted ways with Quarterback P.J. Walker, ultimately putting Bagent in line to be the backup for Justin Fields.

Bagent, who is a West Virginia native, left Shepherd as the school’s all-time leader in passing yards, touchdowns, completions, total offense, touchdowns responsible for, and completion percentage. After going undrafted in the 2023 NFL Draft, he was signed by the Bears immediately after.

The Bears kickoff their 2023 season on September 10th against the Green Bay Packers. Kickoff at Soldier Field is set for 4:25 on Fox.
