Morgantown, WV – Moments ago, WVU finally learned their bowl destination and opponent for the 2023 season.
The Mountaineers will be traveling to Charlotte, North Carolina to play in the Duke’s Mayo Bowl against the North Carolina Tar Heels. The game will be played at Bank America Stadium, the home of the Carolina Panthers.
West Virginia shattered expectations this season, finishing the season 8-4 overall and 6-3 in the Big 12 Conference. North Carolina finished 8-4 overall and 4-4 in the ACC.
West Virginia will be led by junior quarterback Garrett Greene, who threw for 2,178 yards, 15 touchdowns and only 4 interceptions on the year, sophomore running back CJ Donaldson who ran for 798 yards and 11 touchdowns, and freshman sensation Jahiem White, who ran for 792 yards and 3 touchdowns.
The game is set for December 27th at 5:30PM on ESPN.
