WVU will be without a star player in the Duke’s Mayo Bowl.
Morgantown, WV – The West Virginia Mountaineers will travel to Charlotte, North Carolina on December 27th to take on the North Carolina Tar Heels in the Duke’s Mayo Bowl. As expected, both teams will be without several key players due to opt outs and transfers.
According to John Antonik of WVU Athletics, Running Back CJ Donaldson will NOT play in the Mayo Bowl due to Neal Brown wanting him to remain healthy for “development season.”

Donaldson, who missed a large sum of the 2022 season due to injury, will end his sophomore campaign with 171 carries for 798 yards and 11 rushing touchdowns.
