College Gameday Predicted to Visit Morgantown

Athlon Sports has predicted that ESPN’s College Gameday will visit Morgantown for the Backyard Brawl.

Morgantown, WV – For the first time since 2011, WVU will welcome the Pitt Panthers to Milan Puskar Stadium on September 16th. Fans all across West Virginia are looking forward to making the trip to Morgantown for the game, and many expect it to be a sellout.

The national media will also cover the game heavily as it will be broadcast as ABC’s Saturday Night Game at 7:30.

One outlet, Athlon Sports, is now projecting that ESPN’s College Gameday will visit Morgantown for the matchup, even furthering the excitement.

For those of you that may not know, College Gameday visits the campus that will be hosting the best game of the week in College Football. WVU has not hosted Gameday since 2014 when they welcomed undefeated TCU to town. Before that, the broadcast visited in 2011 for WVU’s Saturday night game against LSU.

For Neal Brown and company, this will be a tremendous opportunity to prove themselves in front of a nationally televised audience. The team was adamant that their last place ranking in the Big 12 Preseason Poll will not come to fruition, and that they are looking forward to “proving everyone wrong.”

A victory with a solid performance against the Panthers would go a long way in validating that point.
