The Mountaineers are featured above last place in new Big 12 Power Rankings by On3.
Morgantown, WV – For the majority of the offseason, the West Virginia Mountaineers have been predicted to be the worst team in the Big 12 Conference in 2023. Given their recent lack of success, and roster that has unproven firepower, it has been a fair consensus to consider them among the bottom half of the league.
However, while even the preseason media polls predicted WVU to finish in last place in the Big 12, one outlet has finally picked the Mountaineers above 14th. Although these power rankings have them finishing only in 13th, someone else is finally seen as worse than West Virginia going into 2023.
This team is Dana Holgorsen’s Houston Cougars.
