Safety Backs Out Of WVU Commitment

MORGANTOWN, WV – One day after committing to WVU via the transfer portal, Old Dominion Safety Tahj Ra-El has announced that he will NOT be joining the Mountaineers.

Ra-El shared the news on his Instagram Story earlier this evening.

Since the North Carolina native never officially joined the Mountaineers, this will technically not count as a loss for WVU. He becomes the first, and likely the only player this transfer portal window to decommit.

There has been no word as to if he will continue to pursue opportunities or return to Old Dominion.
