Talented Young Running Back Enters the Transfer Portal

MORGANTOWN, West Virginia — Moments ago, junior running back Justin Johnson announced that he is leaving the West Virginia football program and entering the transfer portal.

Johnson, a 5’11 running back from St. Louis, Missouri, was the Mountaineers’ 3rd leading rusher in 2022 with 430 yards and 3 touchdowns on 98 carries, but saw far less snaps and his production dropped off this past season, finishing the year with 38 carries for 150 yards and 1 touchdown.
