West Virginia Defensive Starter Enters the Transfer Portal

MORGANTOWN, West Virginia — Moments ago, it was confirmed by multiple sources that Mike Lockhart, a redshirt senior from Birmingham, Alabama, has decided to leave the West Virginia football program and will enter the transfer portal.

Lockhart, a 6’3 308 pound defensive lineman, started for the Mountaineers this season, finishing the year with 10 solo tackles, 11 assisted tackles, 9 tackles for loss and 2.5 sacks.

Lockhart transferred from Georgia Tech after playing there from 2019-2021. Although Lockhart hasn’t officially announced why he’s decided to leave West Virginia, it’s rumored that he feels he can make more NIL money elsewhere.
