West Virginia Falls to Oklahoma State

MORGANTOWN, West Virginia — The West Virginia Mountaineers (4-3, 2-2) have dropped their 2nd consecutive game with a loss at home to the Oklahoma State Cowboys (5-2, 3-1), 47-34.

The Mountaineers kept it close throughout the game, but Oklahoma State running back Ollie Gordon II absolutely ran wild and appeared unstoppable in the second half, finishing the game with with 29 carries for 282 yards and 4 touchdowns.

West Virginia was led by a gutsy performance by starting quaterback Garrett Greene, who finished the game 14/24 for 164 yards, 2 touchdowns and 1 interception through the air and also ran the ball 15 times for 93 yards. Junior running back Justin Johnson, Jr. had a fantastic game, rushing 14 times for 72 yards and 1 touchdown. CJ Donaldson had 12 carries for 36 yards. Senior wide receiver Devin Carter had 3 receptions for 54 yards and 1 touchdown, and Marshall transfer EJ Horton added 2 receptions for 50 yards and 1 touchdown.

West Virginia is back in action next weekend, Saturday October 28 on the road at UCF at noon. UCF, 3-4 overall and 0-4 in the Big 12 Conference, nearly beat undefeated Oklahoma in Norman, Oklahoma earlier today, falling 31-29.
