Beanie Bishop Signs with the Pittsburgh Steelers

MORGANTOWN, West Virginia — A day after former West Virginia star center Zach Frazier was drafted by the Pittsburgh Steelers, former Mountaineer Beanie Bishop has signed with the team.

Bishop, a 5’10 defensive back from Lousiville, Kentucky, signed with the Steelers as an undrafted free agent today. Bishop was a first team All Big 12 Conference Player as well as a first team All-American for the Mountaineers this past season.

Bishop led the nation in passes defended with 24 and pass breakups with 20, and also had four interceptions on the season. Although he is considered undersized for the NFL, he has proven that he is more than capable as a defensive back, so watch out for him to not only make the Steelers but also be a major contributor in Pittsburgh for years to come.
