MORGANTOWN, West Virginia — Moments ago, it was revealed that Drake guard Kevin Overton intends to enter the transfer portal. Overton, a 6’5 guard, started all 35 games for Drake this past season as a freshma, averaging 11.3 points, 3.3 rebounds and 1.1 assists per game. He shot 44% from the field and 34.6% from 3-point range.
Overton, a native of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, joins teammate Atin Wright in the transfer portal, and both are expected to join their head coach, Darian DeVries, at West Virginia. Overton and Wright, in addition to DeVries’ son Tucker, would make an outstanding start to rebuilding the West Virginia basketball program.
