Pat McAfee Guest: “West Virginia Hasn’t Been Good Since You Played There”

Morgantown, West Virginia – The West Virginia Mountaineers will play the BYU Cougars for the first time as a member of the Big 12 Conference this season in Morgantown on November 4th.

Pat McAfee, former West Virginia punter, welcomed former BYU linebacker Kyle Van Noy to his show yesterday, and Van Noy had some very interesting things to say about the Mountaineers. Van Noy, who played for BYU from 2009-2013 before winning 2 Super Bowl Championships with the New England Patriots in the NFL, had the following to say about playing West Virginia in Morgantown this season:

“That will be easy money. You guys haven’t been good since my guy Pat White, Steve Slaton, Noel Devine and you were a punter there,” Van Noy said. “I mean, they get after it and are badass when it comes to partying, but I don’t know anything about that because I went to BYU.”

McAfee replied, “I’m assuming BYU is going to be a much better ranked team than the Mountaineers going into this season…”

One of McAfee’s co-hosts cut him off by saying, “Everyone is.”

“McAfee continued, “Relax. Please, we’re trusting the climb.”
